Happy Slapsgiving!!!

It was a great thanksgiving. Not anything like our normal thanksgiving! I stayed up late the night before helping my mom make pies. After hardly getting any sleep my mom came and knocked on my door the following morning at seven. I was soooo tired but nothing was going to keep me from learning and making my first thanksgiving dinner. Since we were finished with the pies all we had left was the rolls, turkey, ham, yams, mash potatoes, salad and stuffing....okay that was kind of a lot but WE COULD DO IT!!! Stuffing the turkey was interesting but a lot easier than I thought. My mom showed me how to make the rolls while I finished the chocolate pies and then we put took a nap because I wasn't going to be able to make it through thanksgiving dinner if I didn't sleep a little.
When I woke up I got the potatoes going and took a bath. Mom woke up and we threw the rest of the food together. Dinner was on the table by three. We usually spend thanksgiving with the family and all the cousins but this year we just spent it with our small family. As we ate we talked about a bunch of family memories and the food turned out really yummy! You appreciate it a lot more when you cook it! I never realized how much work my mom put into thanksgiving! Unfortunately after one big plate of food I was stuffed....at least I tried a little bit of everything.
After everyone was done eating we all went around the table and each wrote something we were thankful for for each person and then we read them to everyone. It was a great thing to do and even though we laughed and joked a lot of the messages were very touching!

Here are some of the many things I am thankful for.....
